What is Stats and how does it work?
Stats is privacy-first web analytics that measures visits, pageviews, traffic sources, devices, and more — without cookies that require consent. Add one short script to your site and start collecting data immediately.
Is Stats GDPR-compliant, and do I need a cookie banner?
Stats does not use consent-required cookies, so you generally do not need a cookie banner for Stats. We process the IP address briefly to derive region and count same-day visitors — it is not stored. See the privacy policy for details.
How is Stats different from Google Analytics?
Stats is simpler, lighter, and more privacy-friendly. Our script is under 1KB (GA is over 45KB), we offer AI insights in plain language, and a world map — plus municipality-level detail for Icelandic traffic.
What are AI insights?
AI insights review your data daily and deliver a clear summary you can act on — for example traffic changes, top sources, or visits from ChatGPT — without digging through complex reports.
Does Stats track traffic from ChatGPT and other AI tools?
Yes. Stats separately identifies referrals from ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and other AI search tools so you can see exactly how much traffic each one drives.
How hard is it to set up?
Usually under two minutes. Use the free WordPress plugin or paste one snippet into your site’s head. We support all major platforms, and we can help you install Stats for free if you need a hand.
How does municipality analytics work?
Stats breaks Icelandic traffic down by municipality. Region is derived from the IP address, which is not stored. Results use Icelandic place names and coats of arms.
What does Stats cost, and is there a free trial?
A 30-day trial with no credit card, at Growth-plan features. After that you can pay or stay on the free plan (5,000 pageviews, 1 domain). Paid: Company 4,900, Growth 9,900, Agency 39,900 ISK/mo ex VAT.
Can I measure multiple websites with one account?
Yes. Company includes 1 domain, Growth 3, and Agency 25. You can add more for an extra fee. Agencies can invite a client to one site, read-only.
Does Stats slow down my website?
No. Our tracking script is under 1KB — over 45× smaller than Google Analytics — and loads asynchronously so it doesn’t affect page load time.
Is Stats built for agencies?
Yes. The Agency plan includes 10 sites (more at 1,490 ISK each), 1.5 million pageviews, an API, branded weekly reports, and client access. Extra pageviews come in 500,000 packs for 4,900 ISK.
